Platform For Youth and Community Development

The Platform for Youth and Community Development is a non-profit and membership based organisation headquartered at Checheche growth point in Chipinge. It is a platform where the community seek to respond to the emerging politico-socio-economic challenges being faced in Manicaland province. At its inception, PYD was founded as a youth organisation but has further evolved and expanded its reach beyond the youth to servicing a broader section of community members that include elderly men and women. PYD defines itself as a membership based, non-partisan organisation, informed by non-violence approach to solving community issues and driven by team work and a collective culture.

PYD strongly believes in creating an environmentally responsible citizen and community that possess basic understanding of the environment and its problems, skills and motivations to solve and eventually participate in environmental improvement programs. There will be 100 people moving around Checheche growth point carrying out a clean up campaign.
